New "American Idol" Judges Get Mixed Reviews from Fans

NEW YORK (CBS) "American Idol" unveiled its new judging lineup on Wednesday, but not everyone is singing the same tune.

After the long-rumored additions of Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler and actress-singer Jennifer Lopez were officially announced, some "Idol" fans took to the show's website to express their displeasure.

Some postings said, "This is a joke," "What a train wreck" and "I won't be watching 'American Idol' this season."

And that's not the response that "Idol" needs. The show's ratings were down nine percent last season and are off 20 percent since its peak in 2006.

Others fans welcomed the change, calling the lineup "awesome" and saying they were "excited" for the new season.

Tyler and Lopez will be replacing exiting judges Simon Cowell (who left to launch an American version of his British show "X Factor"), Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi. Randy Jackson, the only other member of the original judging lineup, is staying with the show.

What do you think of the new "Idol" judges?
