Mumford & Sons bassist making "steady" recovery, will play Glastonbury

Mumford & Sons bassist Ted Dwane is on the mend following brain surgery -- and feels good enough to perform at at the U.K.'s Glastonbury festival this weekend.

The group was forced to cancel a batch of tour dates, including an appearance at Bonnaroo, after Dwane found out he had a blood clot that needed immediate surgery. Mumford & Sons rescheduled dates in Dallas; Woodlands, Texas; and New Orleans.

"Firstly, we are pleased to report that our beloved Ted is making a steady recovery from his operation and wearing his newly acquired shaven-headed hairstyle with enviable levels of suave," explained a post on Mumford & Sons' website. "A huge, huge thank you to all for your messages of support; the man himself is rather overwhelmed."

Keyboard player Ben Lovett opened up about Dwane's surgery in an interview with the Radio Times, "To be honest Ted dealt with the whole thing better than any of us could have imagined. All we feel is incredibly grateful and happy that he's going to be OK and that we're going to get back out on that stage at Glastonbury as four brothers and do what we do."

The Grammy-winning band will kick off "The Full English Tour" on Aug. 26 in Toronto, with dates stretching into September.
