The Rolling Stones frontman has been a musical guest twice before on the the NBC series, but this will be his first hosting gig. Hosts star in some of the evening's skits, so it will be interesting to see how the rocker gets involved with the "SNL" cast.

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning will try his hand at comedy when he hosts "SNL" this weekend.

This year marks the Rolling Stones' 50th anniversary. As part of the celebration, the rockers will release a documentary in September and a commemorative book later this year.

Fans are hoping for a new album and tour, but the Stones have yet to confirm anything. Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood recently told CBSNews.com he wants to do something, but it's a matter of timing it with everyone's schedules.

Last year, Jagger released an album as part of the group SuperHeavy, also featuring reggae singer Damian Marley and Eurythmics founder Dave Stewart.
