Michael Strahan joins "Magic Mike XXL" cast
Get ready to see the "Live With Kelly and Michael" host strip down on the big screen.
Michael Strahan confirmed on his Monday morning show that he will be making an appearance in "Magic Mike XXL." Needless to say, his co-host Kelly Ripa had some questions. "How much nudity can I expect?" she inquired. "Do you need to be waxed? Do you need to see my laser lady?"
The 42-year-old Strahan recalled that the movie's wardrobe guy, Christopher, called him about costumes. "Why did he even call me about wardrobe because apparently, there ain't nothing to be worn," Strahan joked. "It's kind of a thong thing."
Back in 2012, the former NFL pro famously stripped down when "Magic Mike"star Channing Tatum showed up on "Live" The host put on quite a show, complete with tear-away pants.
Since then, Tatum has been continually asking the host to be in "XXL." "You don't have to answer right now, but I need a hard answer, would you be in the movie?" Tatum asked Strahan.
The host, who has no professional dancing experience (unless you count an occasionaltouchdown dance), immediately answered the actor, exclaiming, "Yes! ...Are you kidding? I've been working out. I've been waiting." Turns out, Tatum wasn't kidding!
The highly-anticipated sequel, hitting theaters July 1, 2015, will have Tatum, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Alex Pettyfer and Gabriel Iglesias reprising their sexy stripper roles -- but sadly Matthew McConaughey will not be returning as their fearless leader, Dallas. Elizabeth Banks, Donald Glover, Amber Heard, Andie MacDowell and Jada Pinkett Smith have also been confirmed for the sequel.
