Mich. mom let son, 9, drive car with 5-year-old passenger, police say

(CBS/AP) GREEN OAK TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A Michigan woman is accused of allowing her 9-year-old son to drive around their neighborhood in Livingston County, Mich.

Police responded after residents called authorities to report that a driver looked too young to be behind the wheel of a 2002 Mercury Sable. Police say the boy even had a 5-year-old passenger riding with him on Saturday, about 35 miles northwest of Detroit in Green Oak Township.

Leah Jaglowski, 33, was charged Monday with allowing an unlicensed minor to drive and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She has no phone number listed and couldn't be reached for comment Wednesday.

Police say the 9-year-old told a witness that he was taking out garbage and his mother knew what he was doing.
