Melissa Rivers pays tribute to mom Joan Rivers two years after death

Melissa Rivers says she still misses her mom, late comedian Joan Rivers, every day.

The TV personality paid tribute to her mother two years after the iconic comedian’s death on Sept. 4, 2014.

She wrote, “Thank you all for the love today. Hard to believe it’s 2 yrs. Coop & I miss her every day.”

Melissa then added: “One thing I know is my mom would be so proud of the young man Coop has become. That makes me smile even today xx.”

Melissa recently told People that her teenage son will namecheck Joan when trying to get his way.

“Like, ‘I can’t believe you won’t let me go to Coachella, grandma would’ve let me!’ [I’m] like, ‘No she wouldn’t have. And if she did, she would’ve gone with you and embarrassed you,’” she told People.

Joan, an author/reality star/fashion critic, was hospitalized on Aug. 28, 2014 when she suffered cardiac arrest after her breathing stopped during surgery on her throat at a Manhattan clinic. For days, Rivers’ condition was touch and go, as her daughter provided periodic updates on her mother’s “serious condition,” noting how family and friends were keeping their “fingers crossed.” She died several days later in New York surrounded by family and friends.
