McCain to Mark 9/11 Anniversary

(CBS)
From CBS News' John Bentley:

(CHAMPION, PA.) – John McCain will attend a memorial service in nearby Shanksville this morning for the victims of United flight 93.

The service is on the site where the plane crashed on Sept. 11, 2001 after being taken over by terrorists. McCain is expected to speak briefly before flying to New York City, where he will appear with Barack Obama for a service at Ground Zero this afternoon.

Both candidates finish the day in New York at the "Nation of Service" presidential forum at Columbia University, where McCain and Obama will appear separately to talk about their views on civic service.

The forum will be moderated by Richard Stengel, the managing editor of Time magazine, who will ask the candidates about getting Americans more involved with national service. The candidates will each spend an hour at the forum, although not together. McCain will appear first, followed by Obama, in an event similar to the forum Rick Warren held last month at his Saddleback Church in California.
