McCain Ad Says Clinton Was "Passed Over"

In a not-so-subtle attempt to remind Democratic supporters of Hillary Clinton that she didn't get the vice presidential slot on the party's ticket, John McCain's campaign is up with a new ad called "Passed Over," featuring some Clinton quotes attacking Barack Obama from during the primaries.

"She won millions of votes," an announcer starts, "but isn't on his ticket. Why? For speaking the truth. On his plans."

Clinton: "You never hear the specifics."

Announcer: "On the Rezko scandal."

Clinton: "We still don't have a lot of answers about Senator Obama."

Announcer: "On his attacks."

Clinton: "Senator Obama's campaign has become increasingly negative."

Announcer: "The truth hurt. And Obama didn't like it."

Watch it:

Hillary Clinton responded to the ad in a statement, saying, "Hillary Clinton's support of Barack Obama is clear. She has said repeatedly that Barack Obama and she share a commitment to changing the direction of the country, getting us out of Iraq, and expanding access to health care. John McCain doesn't. It's interesting how those remarks didn't make it into his ad."
