(CBS/AP) EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Stearns County authorities have joined the search for clues to the disappearance of Mandy Matula, a 24-year-old woman whose ex-boyfriend committed suicide outside of a Minnesota police station.
Eden Prairie police say they believe the ex-boyfriend, 24-year-old David Roe, likely traveled in parts of Stearns County after he was last seen with the missing Eden Prairie woman, so officials there joined in the search Sunday. Police also say unspecified items of interest led to a search in Carver County Sunday.
Other searchers found pieces of tissue paper in Eden Prairie Sunday with what appeared to be blood on them. Police later confirmed they were not related to her disappearance. Matula has been missing since leaving her family's home late on May 1. She was last seen with Roe, who shot himself in a police parking lot prior to questioning Thursday afternoon and died Friday.
Eden Prairie is located about 15 miles southwest of Minneapolis.
