Twenty-year-old Gregorio Orrostieta was found guilty Monday of third-degree murder in the February 2015 death of 18-year-old Karlie Hall at her Millersville University dorm.

Authorities say he told police they had been drinking and got into the fight and she fell and hit her head.

The defense argued an earlier injury figured into her death.

Prosecutors described Orrostieta as jealous, and say they had gotten into an argument earlier in the evening at a party.

When the two arrived back at her dorm room, authorities say Orrostieta shoved Hall and she hit her head on a chair, according to CBS Philly. Investigators say Orrostieta admitted he hit her in the face with the back of his hand.

Orrostieta was found trying to administer CPR to his girlfriend after calling 911, but authorities say he was faking that and she had been dead for hours.

Police say the suspect had blood on his face, a cut on his forehead, and scratches on his chest, according to the station.
