Mail thieves arrested, say So. Calif. police
FONTANA, Calif. -- Police announced Monday that four suspects have been arrested in connection with ongoing mail thefts in a Southern California city, reports CBS Los Angeles.
According to the Fontana Police Department, 43-year-old Duane Goad, 23-year-old Brittany Gund, 45-year-old Forrest Rowe and 48-year-old Gregory Osborne were arrested on Thursday. They reportedly face charges for identity theft, receiving stolen property, check fraud and conspiracy.
Detectives say a search warrant served on a San Bernardino motel room, along with a second residence, located more than 500 profiles that contained true identities, stolen checks, Social Security numbers, IP addresses and other financial information.
Authorities told CBS Los Angeles they found tools for altering and creating fake checks, along with printers, computers, blank check stock and ink.
The U.S. Postal Service was reportedly contacted in regards to the incident.
All four suspects were booked into the West Valley Detention Center, according to the station.
