Look Fab In Five

In need of a quick makeover? Ready to celebrate spring but don't have the dollars to do so? How about getting some tips that will wipe out your dreary winter look?

The editors of Fitness Magazine have scanned store shelves and picked out some items that will make you look and feel fabulous from head to toe.

For instance, if you don't have time to style your hair in the morning but still want to look sleek and polished, consider a headband. A wide headband can make a low ponytail look put-together. (Goody headband, $4, Target.com.

To save a few minutes in the morning, consider slathering on some conditioner before you go sleep. Origins Nourishing Oil for Hair ($22.50, origins.com or department stores) is one option. Or, try a heavy-duty conditioner in the shower; Fitness recommends L'Oreal Paris Vive Pro Nutri Gloss Conditioning Treatment ($5 at major drugstore chains).

One way you can appear bright-eyed and bushy-tailed even if you've had a sleepless night is by trying one of the new metallic eye shadows. They can provide some instant brightening and don't cost a fortune. Fitness editors like the Waterproof Crème Eye Shadow from Isadora in Marbled Stone ($10 at at Walgreens drug stores.

If you're really ready for tip-to-toe rehab, then you'll need to gloss your nails with a fresh-looking polish. Fitness editors fell in love with Deborah Lippmann Nail Lacquer in three colors: You Can Leave Your Hat On, How Far Is Heaven or Baby Love ($15 each, lippmancollection.com).

Is your winter white skin is making you look pasty and blah? Warm up your complexion with a swipe of sheer bronzer (Fitness editors favor Tarte's Sunburst Beaded Bronzing Lotion, $30 at Sephora). Or, if you're going for a natural peachy glow, there are some pretty sheer blushers (try Cover Girl's TruBlend Naturally Luminous Blush, $7 at major drugstore chains).

Show you're ready for a spring fling by slipping into a translucent, rosy nude lip gloss — it's a color that works on almost everyone and never looks heavy or matte (Stila Plumping Lip Glaze in Cherry Mint, $25, stilacosmetics.com).

Ready to expose some skin but not sure your skin is ready for public consumption? Fitness likes a light-reflecting moisturizer from Victoria's Secret that will help hide your flaws with its shimmer ( Sexy Little Things Touch Me Gently Airbrush Moisturizer, $20).

It's always wonderful to pack away heavy winter sweaters, but it's important to be sure that your undergarments help you look trim. A push-up bra can give the illusion of a leaner silhouette. Try: OnGossamer Everyday Pretty Lace Bump-It-Up Bra in Pink Sand, $50, barenecessities.com.

If all else fails, grab a pair of trendy large sunglasses — they'll hide a multitude of sins (Daisy Fuentes for Kohl's Sunglasses, $10).
