Lightning hits jetliner headed for Atlantic City

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. - No one was injured when lightning struck a jetliner headed for Atlantic City International Airport.

Spirit Airlines' Flight 262 was en route from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., when the lightning strike occurred on Thursday afternoon.

Spirit says the aircraft landed safely at the airport in Egg Harbor Township and the plane underwent a lengthy inspection. There's no word on the results.
