Kristin Chenoweth cast in recurring role on "The Good Wife"

(CBS News) Kristin Chenoweth is joining the cast of "The Good Wife."

The Tony and Emmy-winning actress has been given a recurring role on the drama, CBS announced Tuesday.

According to the network, Chenoweth's character is a "top-of-her-game political reporter" who wants to know more about Peter Florrick's (Chris Noth) campaign and marriage to Alicia (Julianna Margulies).

Her character will debut in September during the season premiere.

Chenoweth received an Emmy Award for her role on "Pushing Daisies," and most recently starred on the short-lived ABC series "GCB."

This is the second casting news to be announced by "The Good Wife" this week. On Monday, it was revealed that Maura Tierney and Marc Warren will also be joining the show's cast in recurring roles.
