"I always knew I wanted a great man of God," the 26-year-old "California Gurls" singer told Harper's Bazaar in its December issue. "Someone who was going to be an inspiration for people and also be a lovely husband and father."

After a year of dating, Perry and Brand, 35, tied the knot last month in a closely guarded traditional Hindu ceremony at a luxury resort near a tiger reserve in northwestern India. The two are currently honeymooningin the Maldives.

"He's thought-provoking, articulate, a real advocate. I also definitely wanted to have a laugh. I have all that in him," she added.

In the interview, Perry admits she's not always the good girl, despite her Christian upbringing.

"I'm kind of a good girl - and I'm not," she said. "I'm a good girl because I really believe in love, integrity, and respect. I'm a bad girl because I like to tease. I know that I have sex appeal in my deck of cards."

Her dual persona is what helped distinguish herself from the other ladies that are currently dominating the pop music scene, like Lady Gaga, Fergie and close friend Rihanna.

"We're all unique. That's why we all win and we can all exist," she said. "People don't want just vanilla. They want 31 flavors. I couldn't do what Rihanna does. I couldn't do what Gaga does. They can't do what I do."

The full pictorial and interview is available at Harper's Bazaar.
