NEW YORK (CBS) "Inception" star Joseph Gordon-Levitt probably wished he was dreaming earlier this week when he crashed through the back window of a New York City taxi cab on a film shoot, requiring 31 stitches in his arm.

According to E!online.com, the 29-year-old actor was on a bicycle shooting a scene for the action-thriller "Premium Rush" when he collided with a cab, breaking through its rear window.

"Busted through the rear window of a cab," he wrote on his Twitter account. "Luckily got my elbows up. Coulda been way worse. No, but it was my fault, I was going too fast."

Still, he managed to get video of his injuries which he posted with a warning about the blood and gore.

In the thriller about police corruption, directed by David Koepp, Gordon-Levitt plays a bike messenger.
