Jessica Alba claims she doesn't work out

Jessica Alba’s claims about her physical fitness routine likely won’t sit well with many dieters.

The actress and Honest Company mogul told Ellen DeGeneres that her physique was not sculpted in the gym.

While discussing trick-or-treating on Halloween in Los Angeles, Alba insisted that the hilly terrain made it OK to skip a trip to the gym. “You walk up and down and you’re getting exercise, so I didn’t even need to go to the gym -- not like I go to the gym, but I was like I really don’t need to go to the gym,” she said.

“You don’t go to the gym?” DeGeneres responded, incredulous, to which Alba responded, “I should go to the gym.”

“You’re on the cover of Shape magazine,” DeGeneres pointed out. “Are you an imposter?” To drive her point home, she held up a copy of the issue.

“You know how you, like, cover the bits and you know how to do the [pose]? So that’s what I was doing,” Alba explained, gesturing at the cover. “Besides, this is all about inner beauty.”

But it’s still a different line than the one Alba gave to Shape during a recent interview. “If I work out four times, I consider it a successful week,” she told the magazine. “But it’s typically more like two to three days a week because that’s what I have time for.”
