Jenny McCarthy and Brian Urlacher split
(CBS/AP) CHICAGO - Jenny McCarthy says she is no longer romantically involved with Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher.
The former Playboy Playmate and actress, who is from suburban Chicago, released a statement Friday that said: "Brian and I have decided to turn our romance into an amazing friendship. I will continue to be the biggest cheerleader for him."
Urlacher, 34, is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery. He says he expects to be ready for the Sept. 9 opener against Indianapolis.
McCarthy, 39, has also been outspoken about autism treatments and written a book detailing her search for a cure for her son, Evan. She was previously romantically involved with actor Jim Carrey. They split in 2010 after five years together.
