Jennifer Aniston talks pressure to have children

Barely a week goes by when Jennifer Aniston isn't subject to a tabloid story about her personal life with questions like "Is she pregnant?" "Is she trying to adopt?"

The list goes on.

Now the 45-year-old actress is opening up to Allure about parenting and the assumptions people make it about her life and more.

Aniston, who got engaged to Justin Theroux in 2012, told the magazine, "I don't like [the pressure] that people put on me, on women -- that you've failed yourself as a female because you haven't procreated. I don't think it's fair. You may not have a child come out of your vagina, but that doesn't mean you aren't mothering -- dogs, friends, friends' children."

She also spoke about various notions people have about her personal life: "This continually is said about me: That I was so career-driven and focused on myself that I don't want to be a mother, and how selfish that is. Even saying it gets me a little tight in my throat."

Aniston was previously married to Brad Pitt.

She received a Golden Globe nomination last week for her role in the 2014 movie, "Cake."
