(CBS News) Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli are the latest celebrity couple headed for splitsville.

Their reps confirmed the news Tuesday, releasing a joint statement to the Associated Press. The couple said they decided to end their marriage but share "the same deep love and devotion to our children." Garth and Facinelli said they remain "dedicated to raising our beautiful daughters together."

Facinelli and Garth met on the set of 1996's "An Unfinished Affair" and wed in January 2001. They have three daughters: Luca, 14, Lola, 9, and Fiona, 5.

The 38-year-old Facinelli has had a busy few years professionally, starring on the big screen in the "Twilight" movie installments and appearing on the Showtime series, "Nurse Jackie."

Perhaps the media were tipped off about the split when Garth didn't accompany Facinelli to the "The Hunger Games" premiere in L.A. on Monday night. He went with the couple's daughter, Luca.

Garth, 39, was married once before -- to Daniel Clark from 1994 to 1996. The former "Beverly Hills 90210" actress has starred in a few TV movies in the past couple of years. Garth also appeared on ABC Family's, "What I Like About You," and reprised her role as Kelly Taylor on the new "90210" series.
