Jason Aldean marries Brittany Kerr

Country star Jason Aldean has married former "American Idol" contestant Brittany Kerr.

A representative for the singer confirmed that the paired tied the knot Saturday in Mexico. They announced their engagement in September.

"This is the best day ever -- I've got my girl here, my friends, my family -- it's the best day ever!" Aldean said in a statement to Us Weekly, which was first to report news of the marriage.

Kerr added, "Today has been the best day of my life. I feel like the luckiest woman to have been able to marry my best friend."

The 38-year-old Aldean is one of the top-selling acts in country music.

He filed for divorce from his wife, Jessica, in 2013. They have two daughters, Keeley and Kendyl.
