(CBS) NEW YORK - Want to know what really went on at the "Two and a Half Men" set when Charlie Sheen was the star?

Sheen's former boss Chuck Lorre might just fill you in.

Pictures: Sheen's ups and downs

Lorre, who was the topic of several of Sheen's rants before the actor was fired earlier this year, hinted in a "vanity card'' at the end of Monday's show that he's writing a book about it all.

Sheen was dumped last March after the actor railed against his bosses, and they blasted him for his unpredictable behavior as a drug-abusing, reckless playboy.

Lorre killed off Sheen's character in this season's premiere and brought in a new character played by Ashton Kutcher. The premiere drew big ratings - 28 million - last week but that dropped to 20 million this week.

Sheen, meanwhile, has said nice things about Kutcher and, in a startling Emmy appearance earlier this month, wished his "Two and a Half Men" castmates well.

Lorre has been silent throughout all these developments.
