If "The Bachelorette" ever gets dumped, she can always go on DentistDate.com

ABC

(CBS) - If you're not familiar with "The Bachelorette," it's a dating show that features dates followed by eliminations. Sort of like real life, right? Do you think you have what it takes to date like a reality television star?

This season's bachelorette, Ashley Hebert, is always talking about her inner geek. The bubbly dentist is close to finding true love with one of two men left on the reality show. If things don't work out with either Ben Flajnik or JP Rosenbaum, she could always give online dating a shot.

The one thing we learned from this season of "The Bachelorette" is that there are some hot dentists out there. Remember Blake Julian? So how can you find a date that you can trust with your pearly whites?

We found quirky dating site we found in honor of this season's bachelorette. It's called Dentist Date and features dentists, duh. Like any other dating site, you fill out a profile and upload photos. The membership is a little sparse, but if you have a weakness for fluoride this is a no brainer. Hey, hearing about root canals can't be nearly as bad as getting them, correct?

So why bother with online dates? According to a Pew Research study done in 2006, "43% of all online daters, or nearly 7 million adults, have gone on dates with people they met through the sites and 17% of them, nearly 3 million adults, have entered long-term relationships or married their online dating partners."

Those numbers are nothing to scoff at when you consider how our modern lives are so busy and wired. Finding a date online can be incredibly efficient. Even with our fast-paced reality, mobile technology has made it easy to keep up with dates.

OK Cupid co-founder Sam Yagan elaborates, "The mobile craze hasn't really hit yet, but 2011 is going to be the year that mobile really breaks out into dating," he said. "Location-aware apps let a dater who is already out and about know there's a guy or girl three bars down that's a great match for them - that's incredibly convenient for someone on the go, and makes it easier for that person to get out on a real live date quicker."

The future of dating is here and there's a niche for everyone - even hot dentists.
