Hot coffee-thrower gets time in prison
PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia man was sentenced to 23 months in prison Tuesday for throwing hot coffee on a young woman working at a doughnut shop, reports CBS Philly.
David Timbers, 34, pleaded guilty to the May 2012 crime, which was caught on surveillance video and left the woman scarred, according to prosecutor Morgan Vedejs.
"He got into a verbal argument with one of the cashiers in regards to what he paid for, then he pulled a cup from her hand and threw it at her. That cup was filled with hot coffee that caused second degree burns to the neck and arm of the victim," Vedejs said.
Timbers has reportedly called the act of rage the biggest mistake of his life.
