(CBS) A star-studded musical lineup will grace the stage when nominations for the 2012 Grammy Awards are announced live Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.

LL Cool J will host "The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!! - Countdown To Music's Biggest Night," which will feature performances by Lady Gaga, the Band Perry, Ludacris, Rihanna, and Sugarland.

There are also a couple of tribute performances in the works for the one-hour special.

Lupe Fiasco, Common, Rick Ross and LL Cool J will join Furious Five members Melle Mel and Scorpio for a special rendition of Grandmaster Flash's 1982 seminal song, "The Message." The track, which has been sampled by countless music artists through the years, is getting inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

Usher, meanwhile, will team up for a songwriting medley with Valerie Simpson of the duo Ashford and Simpson, as well as Mike Stoller of the songwriting team Leiber and Stoller. It's a fitting tribute, as both Simpson and Stoller lost their longtime writing partners this past year.

In between the live performances, the actual nominations will be announced by Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry.

This marks the fourth time Grammy nods will be unveiled on live TV. Winners will be announced on Feb. 12.
