Google Drive down, users complain of missing documents

Google Drive appears to be down for many users on Friday.
An error message on Drive reads: "The server encountered an error. Please try again later."
Google App status page has Drive listed as orange -- meaning there are service disruptions. And there are wide reports from users that they cannot access their files.
Business Insider reports that files still can be accessed from a document link, however the directory of files is missing.
A spokesperson for Google says the team is looking into it and to check for status updates at the App Status Dashboard.
