During the Cold War of the 1950s, pioneering CBS broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow goes on the air to expose the dangerous excesses of U.S. Sen. Joseph McCarthy, whose pursuit of alleged Communists within the U.S. government has taken an ugly turn.
