Golden Globes: 'Chicago' Top Nominee

The Hollywood Foreign Press announced the 60th annual Golden Globe nominations live Thursday morning at the ballroom of the Beverly Hilton hotel. "Entertainment Tonight"'s Mark Steines, reporting for The Early Show, says it's all about "Chicago."

The movie musical with dance moves by Bob Fosse took eight nominations, including best musical or comedy and best actress for stars Renee Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Up next was "The Hours" with seven nominations. The three-tiered story about women whose lives are linked to a novel by Virginia Woolf was nominated for Best Film Drama, Best Actress for Nicole Kidman and Best Supporting Actor for Ed Harris.

The Golden Globes are often seen as a predictor of who will strike Oscar gold. In the past 12 years, each of the Globe's top drama winners from 1990's "Dances with Wolves" to last year's "A Beautiful Mind" has gone on to receive an Academy best picture nomination. Eight of them won the top Oscar trophy.

The biggest slight, says Steines, is Jennifer Aniston, who failed to get a nomination for her role in "The Good Girl." She had stellar reviews in the movie, but it opened months ago, which may have been a detriment.

The Globes will be awarded on Jan. 19 during a live TV telecast.
