Goat farmer in Colorado knits Broncos sweaters for her 150 kids

MONTROSE, Colo. -- Kids love their sweaters -- and these goats are no exception.

The Herberg family is getting ready to share their Broncos love with some new additions to their family. Rebecca Herberg is having kids this spring -- 150 of them. Goats of course, reports CBS Denver.

"When they're born typically they weigh eight, nine pounds; and they're cold, it's April," Herberg said.

That's why Herberg knits little orange and blue sweaters for the cold kids.

"The first go-around uses them for a couple of weeks, we wash them, we put them on the next round," Herberg said. "As long as everyone gets a sweater."

With 14 goats, and a dog, her Broncos goat coats and ranch duties take up every second of the day. The girl goats get orange and the boys get blue.

While she hasn't always been a football fan, the Broncos have won her over.

"They're really a team that you can be proud of, and I love them," she said. "It's not so much I'm a football fan as that I'm a Broncos fan, and how can you not be?"

While the secluded lifestyle on their 400 acres of private property suits the Herbergs just fine, they finally broke down and bought a big screen television to watch the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl 50 between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers airs on Feb. 7 on CBS.
