(CBS) WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. -- A Kentucky Head Start caregiver has been suspended after being accused of biting a toddler as a form of discipline, reports NBC affiliate WPTV.

Ginger Hackler was reportedly charged Wednesday with two counts of third-degree criminal abuse, according to police in Williamsburg, KY.

Last Monday, Hackler allegedly bit the left arm of a toddler in her care, leaving teeth impressions and bruising. She also allegedly spanked the girl.

"That makes my stomach turn," the child's mother, Larissa King, told the station. "I was under the impression that, you know, that another kid had bit her."
