"Ghostbusters" cameraman helps Boston cops find assault suspect

BOSTON --A member of the crew shooting the new "Ghostbusters" movie helped police find the suspect in violently assault that killed an elderly woman, CBS Boston reported.

Police say Tajanetta Downing, 24, bumped into Yuzhen Lei, 72, Wednesday morning in Boston's Chinatown. Downing allegedly pushed Lei to the ground, causing a serious head injury. The victim later died at the hospital.

Cameraman William Prior was on his way to the film set and saw Lei on the sidewalk, not realizing how badly she was hurt.

"Because it was really hot that morning, I thought she might have fainted," Prior told CBS Boston. "She was like an elderly woman and she was just flat out in that corner there."

Downing fled the scene, but Prior's tip helped police track her down, prosecutors said in court on Thursday.

Downing's defense attorney said that she did not intend to kill Lei. She is facing charges of assault and battery on an elderly person. Downing was ordered held on $75,000 bail and is due to appear in court in August.

The "Ghostbusters" reboot, featuring an all-female cast, is due in theaters July 22, 2016.
