Fiery Rescue, Caught On Tape
A dramatic rescue in a town near Houston was
Deer Park, Texas police say Officer Del Wilcoxson was transporting a prisoner on March 19 when he pulled up on the scene of a three-car accident. One of the cars was engulfed in flames.
Wilcoxson gave the driver his flashlight, and helped him break a window and crawl out.
The driver and Wilcoxson weren't hurt.
It was all recorded by the dashboard camera in Wilcoxson's patrol car.
Wilcoxson says the recognition and publicity he's been getting are too much, because he's trained to act exactly as he did: "I just want people to realize that this is what we do on a daily basis, and we don't do it for the recognition, we do it because we love our job and we like to help people.
