FBI raids Detroit Public Library offices

(CBS/AP) DETROIT - The stakes don't seem to scream Petraeus-Broadwell-Kelley; still, there was the FBI Tuesday morning - ninne agents with search warrants - swarming the main offices of the Detroit Public Library. and scouring the records.

They left around 11 a.m., with three cardboard boxes and "what appeared to be computer equipment," The Detroit News reports.

It is unclear exactly what the FBI was there to investigate, however it is reported that authorities spent much of their time in the offices of the library's chief administrative officer, Tim Cromer. According to The Detroit News, Cromer has been at the center of several spending controversies and the FBI reportedly raided his house Tuesday.

Last year two of the Detroit Public Library's 23 branches were closed and there was a 20 percent cut in staff, according to the Detroit Free Press. The system also faces a $10 million deficit.
