(CBS/WRGB/AP) KEENE, N.H. - Ex-convict Matthew Slocum, wanted for questioning in a fatal New York house fire, is headed to court following his capture in New Hampshire.

The 23-year-old is scheduled to appear in Cheshire County Court in Keene on Thursday to face a fugitive from justice charge.

According to CBS affiliate WRGB, Slocum surrendered to police late Wednesday after a daylong search for him, his girlfriend and their 4-month old son, involving law enforcement authorities in three states.

Police had been searching for Slocum since the fire early Wednesday in White Creek, N.Y. He surrendered in Gilsum, N.H., about 80 miles away.

His girlfriend, Loretta Colegrove, and their son, were found unharmed.

WRGB reports that Slocum is the son of Lisa Harrington, who died in the fire along with her husband, Dan, and his son, Josh.
