(AP) NEW YORK - A former teenage camp counselor has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for sexually abusing an 8-year-old autistic boy in New York City.

Francesco Zaffuto was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty in July.

Prosecutors said the abuse happened in August 2008 at a program for special-needs children on Staten Island where Zaffuto was a counselor.

The Staten Island district attorney said Zaffuto took photos of his sex assaults on the boy and kept them in his computer. The computer was seized by the police in 2010.

The 21-year-old Zaffuto was sentenced to 14 years in prison and 12 years of post-release supervision for a criminal sexual act.

He also received up to 7 years behind bars for possessing a sexual performance by a child. The sentences will run concurrently.
