Eva Longoria graduates with a master's degree

Eva Longoria is no stranger to wearing gowns on the red carpet, but her latest ensemble was of the cap-and-gown variety.

The former "Desperate Housewives" star revealed on Twitter that she has graduated with a master's degree in Chicano studies from California State University, Northridge.

"You're never too old or too busy to continue your education!" she tweeted, sharing photos of her posing with family, fellow graduates and holding her diploma.

A few of Longoria's famous friends sent their well-wishes via Twitter.

"Proud of you Eva," wrote actress Garcelle Beauvais, while "Desperate Housewives" co-star Marcia Cross tweeted: "Huge congratulations on your graduation today!!!! From Canne to Cap and Gown. You are really something. Xoxo m."
