Earnings: Answers.com Revenues Up; Losses Increase

Answers.com (NSDQ: ANSW), the online reference service, has reported its Q308 earnings, and reported higher revenues but a higher loss as well. Revenues for the quarter came in at $3.56 million, up 61 percent from $2.2 million in the year-ago quarter. Losses were $2.12 million, up from $1.95 million in the year-ago quarter, which it says includes the write-off of the Brainboost Answers Engine. Advertising revenues were up, to $3.54 million, up from $2.16 million in the year-ago quarter. The company's revenue mix is also changing, and WikiAnswers.com is now the biggest part: revenues for it were $1.96 million, an increase of 31 percent compared to $1.5 million from the previous sequential quarter.
