Domino Effect? Man attacks girlfriend with hammer after losing game

(CBS/AP) LAS VEGAS - A Las Vegas man angry over a game of dominoes is accused of choking his girlfriend several times and hiting her in the head with a hammer.

Las Vegas police say 25-year-old Desmond Stewart is facing charges of attempted murder and battery after he was arrested Sunday.

Police say in an arrest report that Stewart was upset his 20-year-old girlfriend won the dominoes game at their apartment. Officers say the woman tried to flee Stewart as her sister and brother-in-law attempted to intervene.

Police say Stewart chased his girlfriend out of the apartment with a hammer, attacking her with it and choking her again.

Officers found the couple outside a Wal-Mart and the woman was taken to a hospital.
