Dismembered Body of Trish Robertson, 19, Found on LA Freeway; How Did She Get There?

(KTLA)
LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) A woman's dismembered body was found on a San Fernando Valley freeway last Wednesday and investigators are trying to determine how she got there.

Lt. Robert Davis of the LAPD said they have identified the woman as 19-year-old Trisha J. Robertson of Los Angeles.

Her body was found near the Laurel Canyon Boulevard overpass, on the 5 Freeway north of LA, and investigators originally thought she jumped from the overpass but have since determined that is not the case.

The body was originally reported as a dead dog around 9:30 pm Wednesday and Lt. Davis says the body was struck by several passing cars and likely dismembered by the impact.

All southbound lanes of the major freeway were shut down for six hours Wednesday while California Highway Patrol conducted their investigation.

"One person has so far come in to say they hit the body," said CHP Officer Ming Hsu.
