NEW YORK -- The body of a Long Island dermatologist was found in the doorway of a building in Manhattan's Chelsea section, leaving residents on edge.

NYPD crime scene investigators have been searching for evidence inside the doorway of a building on West 16th Street where Kiersten Cerveny, 38, was found unconscious and dying around 8:30 a.m. Sunday, reports CBS Station WCBS.

Cerveny, of Manhasset, N.Y. was a dermatologist and a married mother of young children, reports CBS New York.

Police said she was at a bar on the Lower East Side with a friend prior to her ending up at the building in Chelsea, but it's unclear what she was doing there.

Police sources said Cerveny was not robbed, and was discovered fully-clothed with bruising on her neck. Emergency responders tried to save her, but she died at the hospital.

Detectives from the 10th Precinct spoke to her husband, but do not believe he is involved in her death, Sanchez reported.

Investigators obtained surveillance video of the doorway and are examining it, a police spokesperson confirmed Monday morning. Police have questioned one person in connection with Cerveny's death, but have no suspects or persons of interest in the case.

The New York City Medical Examiner has not yet determined a cause of death.
