Dave Price Has a Ball Zorb Globe Riding

This story originally aired July 23, 2009.

New Zealand, the country that brought you bungee-jumping, now has a new but equally insane idea for how to have fun. It's called zorb globe riding.

It began a few years ago, when a couple of guys from there got an idea for a new way to have fun: building a huge plastic ball and rolling down a steep hill in it. Today, the sport is catching on.

Early Show weather anchor and features reporter Dave Price took the ride and showed how he rolls.

"Well, we decided that we had to bring this wonderful New Zealand iconic adventure and bring it all the way over to the U.S. so you folks could see what we're all about," said Jane Roberts, who works at Zorb's first American facility, in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

"We love extreme sports," Roberts said.
