FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS/KCNC) Courtney Bowles, a 31-year-old Loveland high school teacher accused of having sex with a 16-year-old student, was arrested after a police officer found her naked with the student in a parked car, according to officials.
Bowles, a teachers' instructional coach at Mountain View High School, was charged with suspicion of sexual assault on a child and appeared in court Monday. She was also charged with suspicion of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Bowles was arrested last Friday at a Loveland park, CBS affiliate KCNC reports.
The police officer who allegedly discovered Bowles with the student was on a routine patrol after the park had closed. The arrest affidavit states the officer spotted a car in the park and went over to it with a flashlight. In the back seat, reportedly, were two people who had no clothes on -- Bowles and the teen. The officer told them to get dressed and then began asking them questions and asked for identification.
The teen male lied about his age at first and then admitted he was 16, according to the affidavit. The officer noticed a bottle of vodka and some soda in the car. The officer wrote in the report that Bowles said she bought the alcohol and that the teen "had only one sip."
A judge has ordered her to have no contact with the alleged victim or anyone under than the age of 18, including her own kids.
She is being held on $50,000 person recognizance bond.
