Cops: Missing Idaho woman was likely murdered

NAMPA, Idaho -- Police now believe an Idaho woman who vanished from her suburban Boise home last week was the victim of a murder, reports CBS affiliate KBOI.

Selena Dawn Thomas, 36, of Nampa, was last seen Thursday, Aug. 14. Police have reportedly named her boyfriend Alfredo Martin Martinez a possible homicide suspect, though Thomas' body has not been found.

Three others -- Jose Cruz Flores, Daniel Francisco Sena and Luis Garcia - have been arrested and charged with aiding and abetting murder, reports the station. Police are also combing through evidence at a cornfield in Melba, about 12 miles south of Nampa, that they've called a crime scene, reports the Idaho Statesman.

Police have uncovered several crime scenes where there has been physical evidence in the case, reports the paper.

Martinez has been booked into jail on a parole violation. He hasn't been charged, reports KBOI.

"Suspicious circumstances" were reportedly apparent at Thomas' home when police went there to follow up on a missing person report Monday. They say her car was still at the house, as well as other personal items she would normally take with her, reports KBOI.

Police issued a lookout alert for Thomas's boyfriend Martinez, 39, also of Nampa, saying they wanted to question him. Martinez met with police on Tuesday, reports the Statesman.

Thursday, police said their investigation went from a missing person case to an aggravated battery case before they named it a homicide investigation. They say they believe domestic violence was a factor in the murder.

Martinez has a criminal history of domestic violence, reports the station.

Flores, Sena and Garcia could face additional charges in the case, reports KBOI.

At a press conference, Thomas' mother Lori Moon spoke to the public, tearfully appealing to victims of domestic violence to seek help.
