Cops: Man killed elderly mother for forcing him to get a job

MIAMI, Fla. --Police say a Florida man was arrested after he allegedly fatally stabbed his mother because she was trying to force him to get a job, reports CBS Miami.

Police say Francis Roig stabbed his 79-year-old mother, Georgina Roig, in her bedroom several times at around 2 a.m. Monday before fleeing the scene.

He was later arrested after authorities spotted him driving not far from the Miami crime scene. When police tried to pull him over, he continued driving but eventually exited the vehicle and tried to flee on foot. Police were able to apprehend him

Francis Roig is charged with second-degree murder, assaulting an officer, resisting arrest and fleeing an officer.

Authorities say he admitted to killing his mother and said he was angry because she pushed him to get a job.
