Cops: Four found dead in murder-suicide in Va.

RICHMOND, Va. - Authorities believe two children and two adults found dead in a Richmond, Va. home Wednesday were shot and killed in a murder-suicide, reports CBS affiliate WTVR.

"We're trying to make sense of all this," Richmond Police spokesman Gene Lepley said, according to the station. "What we're not doing is looking for anybody else. We believe this is a self-contained scene."

The shooting victims reportedly include a four-or-five-year-old boy and a teenager.

Officers responded to the South Richmond home at around 9 p.m. Wednesday and discovered a woman shot dead outside the home. Inside, police said they found a young boy and an adult teenage woman shot to death. A man's body was also found inside.

"Investigators have told me that they are confident that the adult male died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound," Lepley said, according to the station.

The names of the victims were not immediately released.
