Cop accused of sending nude pic to woman who sought help

LOS ANGELES - A federal police officer is under investigation for allegedly sending a nude photograph of himself to a woman who had come to him for help, reports CBS Los Angeles.

The woman told the station she and her mother went to the Veterans Affairs in Westwood last November to look for a VA officer to help search for her missing uncle, a veteran.

She said that’s when she ran into officer Jason Fougere who took her information and her cell phone number. In return, she said, he gave her his card with his personal cell phone number written on it.

A few days later, the woman said she received a text message from Fougere asking if she had a boyfriend and if she wanted to go for coffee sometime.

“I quickly responded that I was in a meeting and I couldn’t talk right now,” the woman told the station.

She said the officer then sent her a picture of himself in his full uniform along with the message, “Here’s something to remember me.”

From there, the woman said the texts became increasingly graphic and dirty and ultimately the officer sent a naked picture of himself, reports the station.

The woman says she texted him back saying that he was “way out of line” and told him to not contact her again.

Fougere allegedly replied, “Very sorry! I won’t contact you anymore!”

Fougere did not respond to a request for comment from CBS Los Angeles.

The 31-year-old woman to whom the photo was allegedly sent called the incident shocking.

“It’s scary, I mean, this is a police officer,” the woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, told the station. “No one has ever sent me a nude selfie before. Let alone a police officer who I was going to him for help.”

The Veterans Affairs Office said they were doing an internal investigation regarding the alleged misconduct, according to CBS Los Angeles. Fougere has reportedly been reassigned without any law enforcement authority while the probe is conducted.
