Second homicide in months at same Colo. apartment

AURORA, Colo. - Authorities say two homicides occurred in the same Aurora, Colo. apartment in a period of five months, reports CBS Denver.

At around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to reports of a homicide in an apartment building at 14th and Lima. A 55-year-old black man was reportedly found stabbed to death in the apartment.

A police spokeswoman told the station they responded to another homicide in September 2014 in the exact same apartment where the 55-year-old victim was found Tuesday. A man suffering a drug overdose was also found in the apartment in the 2014 incident and was later arrested for homicide, according to the station.

It is unclear if Tuesday's homicide is in any way related to the 2014 case, but police said Tuesday that there is no danger to the public and authorities weren't actively looking for a suspect.

According to CBS Denver, it is the third time since November 2013 that police have been called to the scene of a murder at the same apartment building. Back then, the building was reportedly the site of a double-homicide and Denver police later arrested a suspect.
