(CBS/KLAS) LAS VEGAS - A Las Vegas pawn shop is auctioning off a gun that belonged to Christopher Dorner, the slain ex-LAPD officer who killed four people during a February rampage targeting police and their families.

According to CBS affiliate KLAS, Dorner sold a .38 Special revolver at Bargain Pawn Shop in Las Vegas in January. The shop is auctioning off the gun in hopes it will bring in a lot of money, which owner George Bramlett says will go to the families of the victims.

The high bid so far is reportedly over $400. Dorner originally sold the weapon for $50.

"It's going to be an oddity forever, it's going to go down in history books," said Kevin Stoltenberg, a gun owner and customer, told KLAS.

Dorner died after a shootout and fire at a California mountain cabin 80 miles east of Los Angeles following one of the biggest manhunts in recent memory. He claimed he had been the victim of racism and unfair treatment by the LAPD while he worked there and in a manifesto warned that he would bring "warfare" to officers and their families.
