Christiane Amanpour

Christiane Amanpour, the CNN international correspondent, has been covering stories for 60 Minutes since 1998, shortly after Mike Wallace profiled her in a story on the broadcast.

Her debut piece won praise from critics for its portrayal of women under the Taliban rulers of Afghanistan.

Over the eight seasons she has appeared on 60 Minutes, she has continued a tradition of stellar foreign reporting – showing viewers a harsh world outside U.S. borders from datelines that include Haiti, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Rwanda, Uganda, Algeria, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bosnia, Afghanistan and Russia.

Her reports for 60 Minutes have won two Emmys and a Peabody award.
