(CBS/AP) GAINESVILLE, Fla. - A judge denied bond during Pedro Bravo's first court appearance Saturday as the suspect faced a first-degree murder charge in the disappearance of University of Florida student Christian Aguilar.
State prosecutors argued at court Saturday that Bravo should be charged with murder because he previously said he beat 18-year-old Augilar until he was bloody, swollen and barely breathing.
Gainesville Police said they discovered Aguilar's backpack hidden in a suitcase in Bravo's closet and blood stains throughout Bravo's car.
Police said Agular was last seen on Sept. 20 at a Best Buy store with Bravo. Police believe they may have been fighting over a girl.
Gov. Rick Scott joins the continuing massive search for the victim's body.
